" Ms. Heidi is incredibly good at using imagery to explain a concept or movement in a way that makes sense. She has helped me to visualize difficult movements differently which made them easier for me to comprehend. She holds her students to high standards, but creates a great environment because she truly cares for her students’ success. "
" Ms. Heidi's school is nurturing, discipline, inspiring, with step by step instruction and provides constant attention to quality in training. From the "little ballerina to the "older dancers" there is evidence on stage and in the classroom of her genuine mastery among her students. They study anatomy, vocabulary, dance history, musicality, drama, and more. Ms. Heidi's students are equipped technically and artistically for companies of their choosing, reaching the point of professional readiness. "

"Ms. Heidi possesses a wealth of knowledge and the fervent energy to connect with her students. In all my experiences as both a student and a professional dancer, having studied with many accomplished teachers,I had never seen anyone break things down in such a tangible and constructive way, that everyone in class, regardless of his or her previous experiences could grow and flourish within a classroom. I was deeply impressed with Miss Heidi's ability to teach such a wide range of ability levels. She challenged those students who had already danced for many years, and aspired to become professionals, simply needing to perfect their skills. And for those students just beginning to dance, she was able to focus on the fundamental principles necessary for each to gain confidence and build a strong foundation. She is patient, observant and deeply passionate about each of her students and completely committed to finding unique ways for individuals to succeed."

Ms. Heidi, as her students endearingly call her, does more for her students than dance teaching regularly calls for. To me, she has been a friend, a mentor, and a mother figure in the way she brought me to love the joy of classical dance. Ms. Heidi provided me with incredibly well-rounded technical training from age two to seventeen, supplying numerous performance opportunities augmented by diverse music, exquisite costuming, and challenging choreography. Ms. Heidi brought thorough and substantive training to a small-town suburb; her guidance produced opportunities to continue my journey with dance post high school and college. Because of her investment, I can pursue a career in service of the art form that I love. Heidi LuMaye’s unique combination of comprehensive dance pedagogy and whole-hearten devotion to her students imparted the meaning of purpose, camaraderie, confidence, and artistic beauty to my life through dance.
